US outfit D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI) has secured around USD 200 million (EUR 164.7m) in financing to support a solar project in White County, Illinois, New York-based bank CIT Group Inc (NYSE:CIT) announced.
CIT’s Power and Energy business served as coordinating lead arranger in the financing, the bank said.
DESRI, part of investment and technology development firm D.E. Shaw Group, is sponsoring the Big River solar project, designed to generate 149 MW of AC power.
The project’s capacity is contracted under multiple power purchase agreements (PPA) for most of the next two decades, according to CIT’s statement.
