Day4 Energy to supply modules for 1-MW solar project in Italy
(ADPnews) - Nov 17, 2010 - Canadian photovoltaic (PV) module maker Day4 Energy Inc (TSE:DFE) said today it received an order from Italian solar project developer Orciano Ambiente Srl to provide modules for a 1-MW PV facility in Italy.
Construction of the ground-mounted solar plant, located in the town of Orciano Pisano in western Italy, should be completed by December 2010, with the plant scheduled to start operations in February 2011.
PV capacity in Italy is seen to grow by some 1,000 MW a year, according to Riccardo Felicioli, senior project consultant. The contract from Orciano Ambiente comes to support Day4's efforts to expand its business in the southern European country.
At the same time, Day4 announced it has achieved bankability status in Italy from Unicredit Leasing, the project's lender.
