China’s Daqo New Energy Corp (NYSE:DQ) said today that its two domestic subsidiaries have secured five-year contracts to supply high-purity polysilicon to a solar wafer producer in the country.
Xinjiang Daqo and Inner Mongolia Daqo signed an agreement with Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) Co Ltd, a solar wafer business of Chinese industrial products manufacturer Shuangliang ECo Energy Systems Co Ltd (SHA:600481), for the supply of a total of 150,300 MT of high-purity mono-grade polysilicon.
“We expect that the demand for high-purity mono-grade polysilicon to remain strong, especially as the market gradually switches to the next generation of N-type technology, ” commented Longgen Zhang, CEO of Daqo New Energy.
The supply is set to run from November 2022 to December 2027. The parties will negotiate actual prices monthly according to market conditions, the Chinese solar-grade polysilicon producer added.
