Daqo New Energy boosts Q3 polysilicon shipment forecast
Nov 4, 2013 - Chinese polysilicon maker Daqo New Energy Corp (NYSE:DQ) today raised its polysilicon shipments projections for July-September to between 1,200 tonnes and 1,275 tonnes due to a rise in demand.
The company explained that demand was higher than previously expected. The earlier guidance was for third-quarter polysilicon shipments of 1,000 tonnes.
At the same time, as a result of certain delays in shipping Daqo narrowed its expectations for wafer shipments to 7.4 million-7.5 million pieces from earlier projections for 8.9 million pieces. Shipments of multi-crystal silicon ingots and blocks are now seen to range between 6.5 tonnes and 6.6 tonnes, down from 6.8 tonnes in an earlier forecast.
Daqo said it still intended to boost the monthly wafer capacity of its Wanzhou plants to 6 million pieces.
