Czech solar power plants output soars to 890 GWh in Jan-May 2011

Aug 1, 2011 - The electricity production of solar power plants in the Czech Republic totalled 890 GWh for the first five months of 2011, versus 175 GWh in the same period of 2010, the Czech Energy Regulator said yesterday.

By comparison, Czech solar power plants' electricity generation stood at 616 GWh for the entire 2010.

Nevertheless, the solar power segment has a share of only 3% in the country's electricity production.
