US renewable energy plants developer and operator Cypress Creek Renewables said today it has acquired four standalone energy storage projects in Texas with a combined capacity of 400 MW/600 MWh from Black Mountain Energy Storage (BMES).
Each of the projects has a capacity of 100 MW and all are located throughout the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market. Cypress Creek said it will continue the development, entitlement, engineering, procurement, financing and construction of the projects and upon completion in 2024 will operate the facilities.
To date, Cypress Creek has developed over 11 GW of solar and has a 15-GW solar-and-storage pipeline. Solely in the ERCOT market, the company has developed 5 GW of solar and storage.
The buyer did not disclose the value of the purchase, which was facilitated through the LevelTen Energy Asset Marketplace.
Last month, Recurrent Energy LLC announced the acquisition of a 400-MWh energy storage project portfolio in the South Load Zone of the Texas ERCOT market from BMES through the same marketplace.
