US renewable energy plants developer and operator Cypress Creek Renewables said on Monday it has bought a 100-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in New York from local clean energy project developer Carson Power.
The value of the acquisition was kept under wraps.
The project, to be added to Cypress Creek’s New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) development portfolio, is in the early stages of development and is expected to be put on stream in 2026.
Under the arrangement, Carson Power will help the new owner co-develop the project, while Cypress Creek will lead principal development and take care of the project’s procurement, financing and power off-take.
To date, Cypress Creek has developed over 11 GW of solar and storage projects and has a 15-GW solar-and-storage pipeline. Solely in the New York market, the company has brought online more than 35 solar and battery storage systems and is currently developing an additional 55 energy storage projects.
In June, Cypress Creek was awarded a Renewable Energy Certificate from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for its 130-MW Bear Ridge project in Western New York.
