Croatia's Amnis Energija to build 7 MW of solar power capacity–report

(ADPnews) - Dec 9, 2010 - Croatian energy company Amnis Energija plans to build ten solar power plants with a total capacity of 7 MW across the Adriatic country, local daily Novi List reported on Tuesday.

The plants, with a total value of EUR 22 million (USD 29m), are expected to produce 105 million kWh of electricity annually, enough to power 2,600 households. The first 3 MW of capacity are scheduled to start operations next year, and the remainder in 2012.

Amnis Energija together with Austrian company Green Source will build the first solar power plant in the future Barban-Krvavci business zone, southeastern Croatia. It will have an installed capacity of 1 MW and an annual output of 1.2 million kWh, Novi List quoted Amnis Energija founder, Werner Schoissengeier, as saying. He hopes that the facility will start operations in June next year.
