CPV buys 460 MW of US solar projects from Belltown Power

November 8 (Renewables Now) - Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) has concluded the acquisition of 460 MW of in-development solar projects from Belltown Power USA Development LLC, it was announced on Monday.

Specifically, CPV has bought the 360-MW Prairie Dock Solar project in Illinois and the 100-MW Stonecrop Solar project in Kentucky for an undisclosed sum. Both schemes are expected to move into the construction phase during the second half of 2023.

Upon completion, the two solar power plants are estimated to produce enough electricity to supply some 87,000 households.

At present, CPV is developing about 3 GW of renewable energy projects. It has been agreed that the firm will be supported by Belltown Power in the ongoing development of Prairie Dock and Stonecrop.
