CPFL Renovaveis mulls over next energy auctions in Brazil
Aug 14, 2014 - Brazilian renewable energy firm CPFL Renovaveis (BVMF:CPRE3) is still evaluating its possible participation in the next two energy auctions of Brazil this year, the company's president, Andre Dorf, said yesterday.
The company is waiting for the government to announce the terms, especially the price per MWh. Several hydroelectric, wind and solar power projects have been registered for the auctions out of CPFL's 3,800-MW pipeline, which also includes biomass units.
The government has set the energy auctions for September 30 and October 31, seeking hydro, thermal, biomass, wind and solar power projects that should be operational in October 2017 or January 2019.
