Marguerite fund buys stake in 100 MWp of Spanish solar projects
Feb 20, 2019 16:24 CESTOctober 17 (Renewables Now) - ContourGlobal Plc (LON:GLO) today confirmed it has been in talks with Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE) to buy from the Spanish utility a 50-MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in Spain.
The brief stock exchange statement was in response to press speculation this morning. ContourGlobal added it will make a further announcement if and when appropriate.
Spanish daily El Economista reported that the thermal and renewable power plants owner has agreed to buy Iberdrola's Puertollano CSP plant in a deal valued at between EUR 150 million (USD 173m) and EUR 190 million. The daily had reported in June that Iberdrola was seeking a buyer for this plant, located in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha.
In May, ContourGlobal Plc completed its near-EUR-1-billion acquisition of Acciona SA's (BME:ANA) 250-MW solar thermal power portfolio in Spain.
