(SeeNews) – Aug 24, 2011 - German solar thermal systems developer Consolar has landed an order for the instalment of solar panels for the heating of 19 energy efficient homes, Ruoff Energietechnik (Riederich) GmbH, the initiator of the project, announced.
Consolar will use its hybrid panel technology Solaera for the project, which the company says can provide up to four times more heat in winter than normal panels. The Solaera solar heating system captures heat during the day but also during the night and on overcast days, Consolar said when presenting the technology last year.
The current project, located in Weil am Rhein, in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, includes 19 houses. It is one of the 20 Effizienzhaus Plus projects Germany-wide of German energy agency DENA, which aim at the construction of new residential areas with environmental friendly energy supply.
