Conergy completes 583 kW PV roof system in Ontario
Nov 29, 2013 - German solar group Conergy AG (ETR:CGYK) Wednesday said it has completed a 583 kW photovoltaic (PV) rooftop system in the Canadian province of Ontario.
The PV system, consisting of around 2,500 PV modules, was installed on the roof of a commercial building in Prince Edward County. The plant will produce over 700,000 kWh of electricity per year while saving 550 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The PV plant is Conergy's largest rooftop solar project in Ontario so far, since the government introduced the feed-in tariff (FIT) system in the province in 2009. The company expects to further grow on the market in Ontario despite recent changes in the FITs for solar systems, Conergy added.
The rooftop system is the first of a series of projects for which Conergy plans to act as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for its own portfolio as well as for other investors in Canada.
