(SeeNews) - Jun 5, 2012 - German solar company Conergy AG (ETR:CGYK) today said it had installed a 510-kW solar power system at the cold storage facility of agricultural firm Kirschenman Enterprises Inc in San Joaquin Valley, California.
Conergy was the project's developer and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. It also helped with the project financing.
The solar system comprises two ground-mounted and three rooftop systems that use Conergy modules and mounting systems. The facility will generate 768,182 kWh of power a year, enough to offset 15,063 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over 24 years, Conergy estimates.
The developer used its elevated agricultural solar structure design in the project. The structure is 20 feet (6.1m) tall on its lowest edge and does not hamper the loading dock operations.
Kirschenman Enterprises is active in growing, packaging and shipping of potatoes, table grapes and watermelon.
