Colbun to delay San Pedro HPP construction - report
(ADPnews) - Dec 1, 2010 - Chilean electricity producer Colbun (SCL:COLBUN) will postpone the main construction works linked to its future San Pedro hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in order to make additional studies, local daily El Mercurio reported.
Colbun needs to alter the course of San Pedro river, which will fuel the plant. Therefore, the company has decided to deepen the studies it launched in early 2010 in order to gather more information for the terrain, the daily reported.
In turn, the preliminary works, such as the water tunnels, will continue on schedule and will be completed in the first quarter of 2011.
The San Pedro plant is a 144 MW project in Chile's central-southern Los Rios region.
