Cobra Peru gets access permits for wind power feasibility studies

May 30, 2014 - Peru's energy and mines gave temporary access permits yesterday to Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, the local unit of Spanish Grupo Cobra, for feasibility studies for two wind parks of combined in 165 MW in southwestern Peru.

Cobra's Tres Hermanas subsidiary will study an estimated 90 MW in Marcona district, Ica region, while Cobra alone will be working in Lomas and Marcona districts, Arequipa and Ica regions, to confirm 75 MW for its Torocco project.

The company could use public land and infrastructure at no cost to carry out the studies.

The permits are valid until the expiry of the temporary licences issued by the ministry for these studies last year. Both licences expire in 2015.
