Clenergy puts on stream 1-MW of rooftop solar arrays in Fujian
Nov 7, 2014 - China-based solar power equipment maker Clenergy said Thursday it has successfully installed 1 MW of distributed generation (DG) solar systems in the Fujian province.
Clenergy (Xiamen) Energy Investment Co, jointly owned by the company and the China-Xiamen Hi-tech Innovation Centre (XMIBI), served as project developer. It scattered the photovoltaic (PV) equipment over 23 separate buildings of the production, research and educational centre.
The arrays are expected to produce about 1 GWh of electricity per year, which will be fed to the city’s grid and will power the centre. Its output is estimated to save some 370 tonnes of standard coal, as well as over 1,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
This distributed generation scheme represents the initial phase of Clenergy and XMIBI’s cooperation, which calls for the installation of an aggregate 150 MW of distributed PV capacity within the next three years.
