Australian smart building materials maker ClearVue Technologies Ltd (ASX:CPV) today said it will supply solar windows for a hotel development in the US, part of a bigger energy innovation project.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Virtuality Venues LLC to supply its photovoltaic insulating glass units (PV-IGUs) and windows for parts of a USD-2.6-billion (EUR 2.2bn) development called "The City of Light". The project, which is due to break ground in the final quarter of the year, will consist of 12 hotels with 4,280 rooms.
The two companies plan to sign a formal supply and purchase agreement within 90 days of signing the MoU.
The hotel development is part of a project to construct a model small city over a period of seven years, showcasing leading clean energy and regenerative food growing technologies.
"We are very much looking forward to utilizing the ClearVue PV product in the City of Lights project with such deployment giving rise to what we believe will become the world’s largest ever display of self-powered dynamically switchable solar windows in the world," Virtuality Venues CEO Jim Fisher commented.
