July 25 (Renewables Now) - Cleantech Solar will deploy a 4.5-MWp on-site rooftop solar power system in Singapore for US semiconductor manufacturer GlobalFoundries (GF).

The Singapore-based solar developer will deploy the photovoltaic (PV) array on the rooftops of all four semiconductor fabrication plants of GF’s Singapore Woodlands facility. Cleantech Solar will be responsible for financing, designing, installing and operating the system, and will be selling its output to GF under a power purchase agreement (PPA).

The solar array is expected to become operational by the end of this quarter. It is estimated to generate 5.6 GWh annually.

“We are pleased to add GF to our corporate customer list which now numbers over 100 MWp of solar PV systems,” said Raju Shukla, chairman of Cleantech Solar.
