Ciel & Terre completes 973-kW floating solar array in Nara

Sep 6 (Renewables Now) - The Japanese unit of French solar company Ciel & Terre announced in August that it has completed a 973-kW floating photovoltaic (PV) system in Nara prefecture.

Located in Tenri town, the solar array is expected to generate more than 1.07 million kWh annually, the company said.

The operator of the plant will be Ciel & Terre subsidiary Mizuta Lake. The PV array is selling its output =to local power utility Kansai Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:9503), or KEPCO, at JPY 27 (USD 0.248/EUR 0.208) per kWh, tax excluded. 

As regards to the development, Ciel & Terre was in charge of the design and procurement, while Japanese Eco Holdings took care of the constructor work. The solar panels were supplied by Norway-based REC Solar while the power conditioning system (PCS) were from Spain's Power Electronics Corporation.
