China’s TBEA to build 130 MW of solar farms in Xinjiang

Nov 13, 2014 - Chinese electrical equipment maker TBEA Co Ltd (SHA:600089) said today it plans to invest some CNY 1.2 billion (USD 196m/EUR 157m) in 130 MW of solar projects in the Xinjiang autonomous region.
TBEA explained that this investment is in line with its strategy to utilise the available wind and solar resources in the region, which will raise its overall competitiveness.
The projects are in the process of obtaining approvals from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission.

The planned investments have been given the green light by the company’s board of directors. In end-October, TBEA said it will invest some CNY 1.8 billion in 148.5 MW of wind and 70 MW of solar projects in the same region.
