Chinese solar products maker Sungrow Power Supply Co (SHE:300274) said Tuesday it will supply 75 MW of its central inverters to Thai sector player Super Block Co Ltd for a number of photovoltaic (PV) projects in the country.
Sungrow will deliver its SG1000TS container solutions along with PV combiner boxes for the solar parks. They are specially-designed to help large-scale PV plants meet grid requirements, the manufacturer explained.
Four Super Block subsidiaries -- Electrica Asia Power Co Ltd, Health Planet Management Thailand Co Ltd, Media Mark Co Ltd and 17 Aunyawee Holding Co Ltd -- are in charge of developing the solar schemes. The firm aims to hit 400 MW of installed solar capacity by end-2015 and 500 MW in the first quarter of 2016.
“These exciting projects give us the opportunity to support Super Block in their pioneering work for PV energy and gain valuable experience in this region,” Sungrow CEO, Cao Renxian, noted.
Driven by the rapid development of the solar market in the Asia Pacific, Sungrow will establish an office in Thailand this July. The local team will offer turnkey solutions ranging from pre-sales support to after-sales services for their regional customers, according to the press release.
