Aug 26, 2014 - Chinese firm Hareon Solar Technology Co Ltd (SHA:600401) said yesterday it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Hebei province’s Chicheng County to build 100 MWp of distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems there within a year.
The solar scheme will include three phases, the first of which envisages 20 MWp of distributed PV capacity, while the second and third one will be of 40 MWp. The plan will require a total investment of CNY 1 billion (USD 163m/EUR 123m). Hareon noted that this is in line with its long-term expansion plans for the province and will have a positive impact on its financial performance.
When complete, the 100 MWp of solar systems are expected to generate approximately 114 GWh during the first year of operation. The estimated output for the next 25 years amounts to 2,528 GWh, which will save 39,000 tonnes of standard coal per year and will offset 82,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Hareon Solar, which makes PV equipment and also develops, builds, operates and funds solar schemes worldwide, also said yesterday it would invest CNY 4 billion into 500 MWp of distributed PV in Heilongjiang province’s city of Suihua.
