China’s GCL-SI names new CEO

January 10 (Renewables Now) - Chinese solar products maker GCL System Integration Technology (SHE:002506), or GCL-SI, said on Monday it has appointed Eric Luo as chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.

Luo took the post with effect from January 5, 2018. Previously, he was an executive director and CEO of China’s Shunfeng International Clean Energy Ltd (HKG:1165), which owns a majority stake in US solar photovoltaic (PV) products maker Suniva Inc. His employment record includes several senior posts within Shunfeng Group, among which was CEO of Chinese solar module maker Wuxi Suntech Power Co Ltd.

Luo is currently serving as an industry advisor to the US-China Green Fund, a commercially-run private equity fund initiated in 2015 by business and government leaders from China and the US.

Through its local subsidiaries, GCL-SI operates in Japan, India, North America, Australia, Singapore and Germany. The company also has representative offices for Thailand, South America, the Middle East, Southern Europe and Africa.

"2018 will be an exciting time for the Company to continue its solid growth track in the global market,” the newly-appointed CEO said. This year, GCL-SI aims to achieve a total production capacity of 8 GW.
