November 27 (Renewables Now) - The local unit of China's Envision Energy inaugurated on Tuesday the 10-MW Garcia del Rio wind park in Argentina's Buenos Aires province.

Consisting of four wind turbines, the wind farm is the first of a total of four projects secured by Envision Energy Argentina in the first round of the national renewable energy tender RenovAr.

According to a previous statement by Argentina's Ministry of Mines and Energy, the other three wind projects are the 50-MW Ventos del Secano, the 50-MW Cerro Alto and the 75-MW Los Meandros. These parks are to be implemented in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Rio Negro and Neuquen, respectively.

Due to its intelligent control technology and advanced measurement methods, Garcia del Rio can improve its generation performance by 20% over traditional technology, the announcement says.
