Aug 9, 2013 - China WindPower Group Ltd (HKG:0182) on Friday posted a net profit of HKD 39.1 million (USD 5m/EUR 3.8m) for the first half of 2013, up from HKD 24.8 million a year ago.
The company makes tower tube equipment, operates and maintains wind power plants and invests in wind and solar projects. It saw its pretax profit grow to HKD 49.3 million from HKD 31.7 million.
January-June 2013 revenues stood at HKD 436.5 million, compared with HKD 400.8 million in the same period of 2012. The Chinese market brought HKD 419.9 million in revenues to China WindPower, up from HKD 401.8 million previously.
The power plants operated by the company produced 1,227 million kWh in the reporting period, an increase of 29% year-on-year. Wind power output was 1,182 million kWh, while solar power generation amounted to 44.8 million kWh.
At the end of June 2013, China WindPower had 29 grid-connected wind and solar parks of 1,311 MW in total. Capacity attributable to the company was 617 MW. It also had 441 MW under construction.
