Chile gives environmental nod to 88-MW wind power project of Endesa - report
Oct 12, 2012 - The Environmental Evaluation Service (SEA) of Chile's central Araucania region approved the 88-MW wind power project Renaico of local power utility Endesa Chile (SCL:ENDESA), the project's manager Jorge Garrido told local Radio Biobio yesterday.
The facility will have 44 wind turbines, seen to generate 305 GWh annually. It will require USD-240-million (EUR 185.5m) investment including in the construction of a power substation and a power line to connect Renaico to the country's central power grid SIC.
Renaico will be built in Malleco province, Araucania region, and it will be kicked off in 2015.
