Chile Campo Lindo seeks to build 145-MW wind farm in Biobio
Jun 20, 2014 - Chilean firm Parque Eolico Campo Lindo SpA on Thursday presented an environmental plan to the authorities in Biobio region for the construction of a wind farm with an installed capacity of up to 145.2 MW.
The firm will install 44 turbines and transmission facilities to the 220-kV Charrua-Cautin line, part of the central power system SIC.
The plant will be built in Laja and Los Angeles municipalities in 2015 and 2016, with an estimated investment of USD 300 million (EUR 220.4m).
Campo Lindo will help diversify the regional energy mix and meet the growing national demand, saving nearly 130 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions a year, the firm said in its environmental impact declaration.
