Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTMay 12 (Renewables Now) - US chemical and ingredient distributor Univar Solutions Inc (NYSE:UNVR) has contracted Motive Energy to install a 1-MW solar array and an energy storage system at one of the company’s largest sites.
Specifically, Motive Energy will deploy the solar panels and a 375-kW/753-kWh Watt.io energy storage system at the City of Commerce facility in California to form a microgrid at the site. The project is expected to be finalised this year.
Univar Solutions is looking to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 carbon dioxide emissions by 20% by 2025. The firm’s ultimate objective is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
This latest project follows solar installations at other global facilities in Europe and Latin America.
