UK fuel and lubricants distributor Certas Energy is advancing its energy transition strategy with the appointment of a head of its newly-formed renewables solutions unit as well as with the recent acquisition of local renewable energy systems provider Hafod Renewable Energy.
Certas last week announced the appointment of Mark Deeney to lead the company’s Energy Solutions Renewables Division which will help customers optimise their energy mix with sustainable technologies.
The British distributor also announced its second major inorganic growth investment in the renewable power sector after the acquisition of Preston-based Freedom Heat Pumps in late 2022.
St Asaph, Wales-based Hafod designs, installs and maintains energy-saving products including solar panels, EV charging systems, air source heat pumps and underfloor heating, among others. It offers services to domestic, commercial and agricultural customers.
“From fuelling our own fleets with renewable fuel and offering EVs to company car users, to installing heat pumps in our offices and solar panels on our retail sites, we strive to lead by example and have already exceeded our 2025, 20% carbon reduction target,” said Steve Little, managing director at Certas Energy.
