Casa dos Ventos to supply green power to Vestas' production sites in Brazil

Brazilian renewable energy developer Casa dos Ventos will supply green energy to Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) to power its wind turbine production operations in the South American country.

The two companies have signed a contract under which the renewable power will be delivered in 2023 and 2024, Casa dos Ventos said on Wednesday.

The deal is a new milestone in the five-year partnership between the two companies as it sets up a virtuous cycle towards sustainability.

Specifically, the Danish manufacturer has been in charge of the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of turbines for Casa dos Ventos' wind parks and now it will power its production sites across the country with energy from those plants.

The Brazilian developer's power supply contracts total more than BRL 7.5 billion (USD 1.4bn/EUR 1.3bn) up to 2025. Its negotiated capacity exceeds 1.4 GWa per month, the firm noted.
