January 23 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian wind developer Casa dos Ventos is looking for parties interested in buying both a portion of the output and equity stakes in a 450-MW wind farm complex, a group executive told Reuters.

The project will be realised in Rio Grande do Norte state and is expected to mirror a previous move by the company, according to Lucas Araripe, director of New Business at Casa dos Ventos.

The initiative, already in progress, is aimed at replicating the deal the wind developer made with Brazilian mining company Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3), in which the latter agreed to buy the electricity generated by the 151.2-MW Folha Larga Sul wind farm for a 23-year period, with the option to acquire the entire asset in the future, Araripe told the news agency.

The new deal will differ from the one with Vale because Casa dos Ventos is looking to sign contracts with more than one company. Also, it will seek to be a partner-operator, according to the report.
