November 7 (Renewables Now) - US energy infrastructure investor Captona Partners said on Tuesday that it has acquired a 6-MW brownfield solar farm in Warwick, Rhode Island, as part of the company’s strategy for North American portfolio growth.

The purchase, the sum on which was not disclosed, is speeding up the progress of the portfolio goals of Captona for wind, solar and other generation assets, it said.

“Our global portfolio continues its growth of wind and solar projects and is on track to reach 500 MW by 2020 along with our baseline capital growth,” said Izzet Bensusan, CEO and co-founder of Captona Partners.

The deal is already underwritten, executed and added to Captona’s investment portfolio. The plant generates net metering credits for the City of Warwick as of October 18, 2018.
