July 11 (Renewables Now) - Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has completed work on a 15-MWp solar project in Vietnam, it announced on Thursday.

In addition to supplying solar modules and inverters, the company also delivered engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the so-called Chu Ngoc project. The work was done in cooperation with joint venture partners IPC Technique JSC and SD668 Vietnam JSC.

The plant itself is owned by Licogi 16 JSC and is located on 43 acres of land near Phu Tuc in Dong Nai Province. Its commercial operation was initiated last month and the facility is expected to produce enough power each year to meet the consumption of over 3,800 homes.

“We are committed to delivering more projects in Vietnam as we further expand our close to 1 GWp global EPC project pipeline," said Shawn Qu, chairman of Canadian Solar.
