Canadian-German commerce chamber to take part in Intersolar Europe 2011

(ADPnews) - May 25, 2011 - The Canadian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) will represent Canada at the Intersolar Europe 2011 trade show in Munich from June 8 to 10.

Several Canadian firms will participate in the fair. Among them are photovoltaics (PV) specialists EcosunPV, Sparq Systems, Crovak Group and Esei Solar, as well as solar thermal power companies Thermo Dynamics and Enerconcept. Consultancy firm Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP will also take part.

AHK supports German companies entering the Canadian market by providing market information and advice and helping them establish business connections.

Canada has favourable solar radiation characteristics, which makes it a preferred location for the development of solar energy. Newly installed PV capacity in Canada is expected to amount to around 400 MW in 2011, or twice as much as last year's new capacity.

At present, there are 650 companies on the Canadian solar energy market, 80% of which are active in the PV field. The biggest concentration of PV firms is in Ontario due to the province's attractive feed-in tariff.
