January 13 (Renewables Now) - Energy services provider Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) has acquired the US solar operations and maintenance (O&M) business of Belectric Inc, part of Germany’s Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH.
Houston, Texas-based CAMS announced the deal on Tuesday, that the acquired business owns a portfolio including 141 operating sites across 11 states. It did not give any financial details about the transaction.
According to the Belectric Group’s website, Belectric Inc’s US operations are responsible for maintaining 141 MWp of solar photovoltaic (PV) parks, with service locations throughout the US and Puerto Rico.
The purchase is in line with CAMS’ strategy to expand its foothold across the renewable energy industry and start providing a full range of services to its clients. The company noted that the move was “a natural extension” of its offerings. Since its formation in 2007, it has provided lifecycle management services for around 3.5 GW of wind, solar and energy storage projects, it added.
