Callis Energia submits study for USD 250m wind farm in southern Chile

Dec 1, 2011 - Chilean power firm Callis Energia Chile Ltda yesterday submitted an environmental impact study for the construction of a USD 250 million (EUR 185.4m) wind farm in Chile's southern Los Lagos region.
The farm, dubbed Ancud, will have an installed capacity of up to 120 MW. It will be built in the areas Pumanzano, Huillinco, Choroihue and Llanco in the Ancud municipality, near an existing 220 kV line. Therefore, the company will not need to build its own power line.
Construction is expected to begin in January 2013 and to take 15 months.
