Brazil's regulator clears test operation of two turbines at Pioneiros II biomass TPP
Sep 12, 2013 - Brazilian electricity sector regulator Aneel cleared the test operation of two turbines, with a capacity of 25 MW and 10 MW, at the biomass thermoelectric power plant (TPP) Pioneiros II, according to a decree published in the State Gazette yesterday.
The plant is fuelled by sugar cane bagasse and it is located in Sud Menucci municipality, southeastern Sao Paulo state. The facility is owned by Pioneiros Termoelerica Ilha Solteira and Pioneiros Bioenergia.
Aneel will decide whether to authorise the turbines' commercial operation after the completion of the test phase.
