Brazil's Raizen Energia elects new CEO

January 23 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian sugar and ethanol producer Raizen Energia SA announced recently the appointment of Ricardo Dell Aquila Mussa as its new chief executive officer.

Ricardo Mussa will take office on April 1, replacing Luis Henrique Guimaraes, who has been the head of the company since April 2016.

According to the terms set by Brazil's Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF:CSAN3), one of Raizen's owners, Guimaraes will be appointed as a member of Raizen's board of directors effectively this April. Raizen is a 50/50 joint venture between Cosan and Royal Dutch Shell Plc (AMS:RDSA).

The new CEO has been acting as the executive vice-president of Logistics, Distribution and Trading since 2017. Mussa has been a part of the Cosan group since 2007 and previously acted as CEO of Radar SA and Moove SA.
