Brazil's Eolica Geribatu X cleared to test 28-MW wind plant
Jul 31, 2014 - Brazil's electricity sector watchdog Aneel gave permit on Wednesday for test operation of the Verace X wind farm, with a 28-MW capacity, installed by local firm Eolica Geribatu X SA.
The wind farm has 14 turbines, all of which are now ready to start operations. The plant was built in Santa Vitoria do Palmar municipality, in the southernmost Rio Grande do Sul state.
Verace X is a project of local fund Rio Bravo Energia I, which holds 51%, and utility Eletrosul, owned by federal power company Eletrobras (BVMF:ELET6). The output was sold at the energy auction held by Aneel in August 2011.
The Verace wind power complex, renamed to Geribatu, will have a total installed capacity of 258 MW.
