(SeeNews) - Oct 23, 2013 - Brazilian biggest sugar and ethanol trader Copersucar has declared force majeure on some of its sugar sales contracts, following the fire which affected its warehouses at Brazil's largest port of Santos, southeastern Sao Paulo state.<br /> The information was provided by Eleni Androulaki, a spokesperson of Louis Dreyfus Commodities (LDC), which expected to receive a 1.49 million tonnes of sugar from Copersucar under a futures contract.<br /> Copesucar has said on October 18 the fire has burnt 180,000 tonnes of sugar. However, the force majeure was not confirmed by Copersucar's officials yet.
