Nov 18, 2014 - Brazilian power utility Copel (BVMF:CPLE6) said Monday it will acquire projects of combined 134.4 MW that make up the Santos wind power complex from Rodrigo Pedroso Energia Ltda (RPE Energia).
The complex includes six wind farms registered for the A-5 energy auction, to be held on November 28.
The plants will be built in Rio Grande do Norte state, in the same region where Copel is building other wind parks. Therefore, the company expects savings from administrative and operating synergies.
The new complex increases Copel's potential wind projects to 545.4 MW, while another 526.1 MW is already under construction.
