March 25 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's antitrust regulator Cade has approved the acquisition by J. Malucelli Gerenciadora de Projetos e Analise de Riscos Ltda of the stakes it does not already own in 187 MW of wind power plants.

Under the terms of the agreement, published in Brazil's state gazette on Monday, J. Malucelli is buying the remaining 49% in three companies from Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (BVMF:ELET3), or Eletrobras, for an undisclosed amount.

More specifically, the firm is taking full control of Rei dos Ventos 3 Geradora de Energia SA, Brasventos Eolo Geradora de Energia SA and Brasventos Miassaba 3 Geradora de Energia SA. These companies manage wind parks with respective capacities of 60.1 MW, 58.4 MW and 68.5 MW.

The transaction, which was cleared without restrictions, aligns with J. Malucelli's plan to expand its investments in the energy sector and contributes to Eletrobras' goal to rebalance its finances and reduce its indebtedness.
