Brazil's Far South Regional Development Bank (BRDE) and the Federation of Industries of Parana (FIEP) signed today a technical cooperation agreement to support investments in energy efficiency projects for the industrial sector.
The agreement is aimed to increase the competitiveness of Parana state industries, with renewable proposals such as reducing energy costs and consumption of natural resources.
Under the terms, FIEP will guide business owners on the financing conditions in BRDE's energy programme and the documentation required for the process. The institution will also initiate technical service offerings related to energy efficiency that will complement the dossier needed for the project designs in BRDE.
Renewable energy and energy efficiency are constant concerns of the development bank, which recently created the BRDE Energia, a green energy programme, which offers credit lines for projects involving renewable energy and energy efficiency. BRDE itself will pour some BRL 60 million (USD 15.5m/EUR 13.8m) to facilitate projects not only in Parana, bus also Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.
