Brazilian utility Cemig picks new CEO

January 13 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian energy utility Companhia Energetica de Minas Gerais (BVMF:CMIG4), also known as Cemig, announced today the appointment of Reynaldo Passanezi Filho as its new chief executive officer.

Passanezi Filho will take office immediately, replacing Cledorvino Belini, who has been at the head of the company since February 8, 2019. Belini will remain a member of Cemig's board of directors.

The new CEO has extensive experience in corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in Latin America. Prior to his latest appointment, Passanezi Filho served as the CEO of Brazilian electricity transmission company Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista (BVMF:TRPL4), or ISA CTEEP, and was country manager and managing director of C&IB at BBVA Brazil bank.
