Brazilian fund FI-FGTS is considering financing certain wind projects that are already contracted by local renewables developer Renova Energia SA (BVMF:RNEW11).
The information was released on Friday through a note to the market after Renova's investors requested clarification regarding a news article published previously by local newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo. The daily said earlier that Renova is expected to receive an investment of some BRL 500 million (USD 158.9m/EUR 142.8m).
Renova said in its statement that the potential wind farm construction financing has not yet been approved by its board or by FI-FGTS for that matter.
The Brazilian renewable energy firm, whose main shareholder is local electric utility Cemig (BVMF:CMIG4), also has investments in small hydropower plants (HPP) and solar power plants in Brazil.
