Brazilian digital solutions company TIVIT has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with local wind projects developer Casa dos Ventos for power from the 504-MW Rio do Vento wind complex.
Under the agreement, Casa dos Ventos will cover the entire electrical demand of TIVIT's 30 offices and four data centres spread across the country. Supply is set to commence in 2022.

Located in Rio Grande do Norte state, the wind complex consists of 120 V150-4.2 MW wind turbines supplied by Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS). The park represents and investment of BRL 2.4 billion (USD 432.1m/EUR 394.6m). It is expected to be completed in the second half of 2021.
In addition to this PPA, Casa dos Ventos has recently signed a 13-year energy supply contract with Brazilian shoemaker Vulcabras Azaleia (BVMF:VULC3). Valued at BRL 150 million, the PPA will amount to 7 MW of clean energy.
Casa dos Ventos is also planning to double Rio dos Ventos' capacity to 1 GW and to add a solar component.
