Brazil tests Ribeirao-Uberaba ethanol pipeline - report
Oct 14, 2014 - Brazil has recently started tests of an ethanol pipeline stretch between Ribeirao Preto and Uberaba, in Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais states, local sector news portal Jornal Cana reported Monday.
The stretch, with a length of 116 km (72 miles), is on track to enter into commercial operation next month. It will be part of an ethanol pipeline of a total 1,300 km that will be able to transport up to 20 billion litres (5.3bn gallons) a year.
The whole project is valued at BRL 7 billion (USD 2.92bn/EUR 2.3bn) and interconnects five states until reaching the ports of Sao Sebastiao and Ilha d'Agua.
