Brazil sets bidding price caps for December 11 auction

Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel approved today the price ceilings for the December 11 existing facilities energy auction.

The tender price caps will vary from BRL 112 (USD 29.5/EUR 27.6) per MWh to BRL 167 per MWh, according to the type of contract, availability or amount of energy. Details are given in the table below.

Biomass and hydropower are the main renewable sources to be contracted. The first will be negotiated in the form of availability, with supply end dates for December 31, 2018 and December 31, 2020.

The other sources, including hydropower, will be contracted in the form of amount of energy, with supply ending on December 31, 2018.
