(SeeNews) - Nov 13, 2013 - Brazilian state-run energy research company EPE has registered 429 renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 10,460 MW for the government's A-3 auction, scheduled for November 18.<br /> The main part of the projects, or 381, are wind power plants with overall 9,191 MW capacity. A total of 31 solar projects, of 813 MW capacity, and 10 small-scale HPPs, of 190 MW capacity, were also registered. The biomass thermal plants to be offered at A-3 are seven and their installed capacity is 266 MW.<br /> The ceiling price for all power sources was set at BRL 126 (USD 54/EUR 40) per MWh.<br /> The 429 projects are located in 12 Brazilian state, with the northeastern Bahia state having the bulk of 107 projects -- 105 wind plants with 2,604 MW, and 12 PV solar plants of 309 MW capacity.<br /> The projects to be offered at the government's auction will have to start supplying electricity as of 2016.<br /> (BRL 1.0 = USD 0.429/EUR 0.319)
